NEW! AHRDA program is currently under reconstruction. Please be advised that we are taking limited applications for funding for 2010/11 school year. Effective October 1, 2010 the AHRDA program will be renamed and restructured under the Aboriginal Skills Employment and Training Strategic (ASETS).
Aboriginal Human Resource Development Agreement
Through community-level agreements, the Aboriginal Human Resources Development Strategy enables the Aboriginal Human Resources Agreement (AHRDA) holder to design, develop and deliver programs that meet the labour market and employment needs of their communities. All Aboriginal people, regardless of status or location, may access AHRDA programs and services.
Labour Market Programs
Designed to provide skills development to Aboriginal people so they can prepare for, find or maintain a job.
Employment Assistance Services
Created to provide guidance on choosing a career or training path, finding or keeping a job, or planning for a change if unemployed or underemployed.
Youth Programs
Available to young people aged 15-30 years, who are interested in getting the skills, knowledge and work experience they need to prepare for, find and keep a job.
Persons with Disabilities
Designed to enhance the options for persons with disabilities for getting the skills they need to find and keep a job.
Child Care
Provides First Nations and Inuit parents with access to quality child care so they are able to work or attend training to improve their skills for employment.
